Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom, aka Mary Kom was born on 01 March 1983 at a small village of Kangathei, in Churachandpur District of Manipur State .
As you all know Mary Kom is an Indian Olympic boxer and a respected Member of Rajya Sabha.
She is the only woman to become World Amateur Boxing champion for a record six times. She is also the only woman boxer to have won a medal in each one of the seven World Championships that she participated. She is also the only boxer in male or female category to win eight World Championship medals. If we talk about Mary Kom's achievements then the list is never ending.
Mary Kom set a new standard in amateur boxing without ever competing in professional boxing. In 2015, Mary Kom became the very first amateur boxer to surpass most of the professional athletes in India in their earnings, endorsements and awards. She is the first amateur athlete to win the Padma Bhushan.

Mary Kom is married to Karung Onkholer, who is a football player. She first met her husband in 2000. They became friends and thereafter began dating each other and After four years they were married. Together they have three sons, twins born in 2007, and another son born in 2013.
